Saturday’s in San Diego
Morning
Wake up and smell the coffee! Saturday mornings by the beach are a great place to start your day with a cool coastal breeze and incredible views. NY Garden Deli & Cafe can supply you with some breakfast bites and coffee to get your morning going. The Belgian waffle has us pretty excited.
Late Morning
Make sure to order a sandwich to take with you for a day on the coast. The spicy chicken sandwich and short rib sandwich are a couple of our popular choices at NY Garden Deli. Grab some extra napkins, a couple of cold ones, and head out to Del Mar for a seaside stroll. If you’re in the walking/hiking mood, Torrey Pines State Reserve is around the corner with cliffs overlooking the ocean and downhill hikes that end on the sand. (note there is an uphill start…) If you’re more into the beach and relaxing views mood, head to Del Mar where you can sit with your toes in the sand or on the grassy hills above. This is a prime time to take that sandwich out and enjoy the waves crashing.
Afternoon
The sun is finally shining bright and you’re feeling an adventure. La Jolla Cove is a crowd pleaser. Explore the village or head down to the beach for an alternative experience from the calm beaches of Del Mar. La Jolla offers an array of activities to get your adrenaline pumping or tourist sites in for the day.

Evening
If you’re looking for some fine dining to end your evening, we highly recommend beachfront seafood to get the entire vibe of San Diego culture. Jakes Del Mar is steps from the ocean waves with seafood in a classy atmosphere. If you’ve had enough sand between your toes, check out En Fuego Cantina for some local Mexican cuisine nearby.
If early bed times don’t sound great, check out Death By Tequila for some fun cocktails and plenty of tequila. If you didn’t eat enough earlier…they also have some guacamole and well an entire Baja cuisine menu. *Uber exists. Use it!
